What is the difference between medical cannabis and adult use cannabis?

Medical cannabis is used by people with a qualifying medical condition who have registered under a state’s medical cannabis program. Patients must carry a practitioner or state issued medical cannabis card in order to purchase and consume cannabis for medical reasons. While some medical products have higher-potency, the cannabis itself is not different from what can be purchased for recreational adult-use.

I have never visited a dispensary. Can I just walk in and shop?

Ayr Dispensaries in Pennsylvania are open to medical patients only, which means you’ll need a valid state-issued medical cannabis card to walk through the door and make a purchase, no appointment necessary. Pennsylvania is not a reciprocal state, so it doesn’t allow cardholders from other states to purchase medical marijuana.

How much Cannabis can I buy in one visit?

Under Pennsylvania law, qualified medical marijuana patients have a defined 14-day supply limit. The standard limit is three ounces (about 84 grams) of cannabis product in a 14-day period. This limit applies to all legally purchased products, including flower, oils, tinctures, capsules, topicals, and vaping products.

No. Consumption is prohibited on all Ayr Dispensaries property. It is illegal to smoke marijuana, even medical marijuana, in public and any federal property in Pennsylvania. However, vaping medical cannabis is permitted on private property according to the state’s medical cannabis law.

You can redeem points in 500-point increments for $5 off any purchase. That means you can redeem 1,000 points for $10 off, 1,500 points for $15 off and so on. The maximum number of points you can redeem in a single transaction is 5,000 points for $50 off. In Ohio, points can only be redeemed on non-cannabis products.

New Rewards Members will automatically start in Tier 1 the day they join. New and pre-existing rewards members can move up to the next tier based on their spending in the 2026. Following the example above, you would be eligible for Tier 3 Rewards status after spending a cumulative $2001 or more dollars in 2026.
